Born into a musical family, Iris began singing at an early age. She toured with a gospel trio and performed with a flamenco guitarist. As a lead vocalist in a variety band for nine years, she performed jazz standards, ballads and light rock tunes.

Iris has presented an array of multicultural and classical recitals. She has performed lead roles in operas and opera scenes. She collaborated with the CU Afrocuban Ensemble, performing as lead vocalist for a number of concerts. In Puerto Rico, Iris was a guest soloist with the internationally renowned Cesar Concepcion Orchestra.

In addition to serving as music director and music coordinator for special musical events, Iris has also performed nationally and internationally in professional choirs, a cappella groups, jazz and Latin ensembles.

Iris’ students benefit from her diversity in musical styles. Classical, contemporary, gospel, folk, Latin, jazz, opera and pop are all a part of her repertoire, and she has extensive experience performing Spanish sacred and secular music.
